Locally Sourced Produce
Chef Sam changes the menu depending on produce availability so the menu can change from day to day. The menu has options for different size meals and dietary requirements to suit any diner, however in line with the modern day trend the menu is predominantly designed for sharing meals with the introduction of locally caught whole fresh fish and half ducks from Great Ocean Ducks on the menu Summer 2019.
Our focus at Forage is ‘local’ and so we go out of our way to support as many local small producers and farmers from the magnificent Great Ocean Road and hinterland as possible. Our meat is locally sourced and cruelty free. Our bread is an artisan organic sourdough from Torquay; Eggs are from happy pasture raised hens in the Otways and our milk and dairy are locally made and produced from: Apostles Whey, Shultz Organic Dairy and Sungold.
Our flour – spelt and wheat- is grown and milled in Birregurra. Our seafood is local and fresh, the Abalone comes straight from the diver who forages it from the ocean you can see from the restaurant; the crayfish comes seasonally from local cray fishermen and the octopus also from the southern ocean.
