Locally Sourced Produce


Our focus at Forage is ‘local’  supporting as many local small producers and farmers from the magnificent Great Ocean Road and hinterland, while keeping our environmental foot print small.

Our meat is locally sourced and ethical, Great Ocean Duck and Kangaroobie meats are family run farms only 10 mins from the ionic 12 apostles. Our bread is either made on site by Sam using locally grown and milled spelt from Lingawood seeds in Birragurra or is an artisan sourdough by Jane Dough from a near by town, Warrnambool; Eggs are from happy pasture raised hens in the Otways and our milk and dairy are locally made and produced from: Apostles Whey cheese in Cooriemungle, Shultz Organic Dairy in Timboon and Sungold in Allandford.

Our seafood is local and fresh, the Abalone comes straight from the diver who forages it from the ocean you can see from the restaurant; the crayfish comes seasonally from local cray fishermen and the octopus also from the southern ocean.

Foraged ingredients feature from our off site kitchen garden, family farm, friends fruit trees and Chef Sam’s secret foraging locations.

Some of the locally produced products we use are soured from businesses on the 12 Apostles Artisan Food Trail and the Otway Harvest Trail.
